Spring Cleaning time

We’ll be meeting at Lion’s Park in Salisbury at 9am on Saturday 05/02/2015 to do Salisbury trail cleanup and maintenance for the Spring on the Eastern Marsh Trail and Ghost Trail. The event will be similar to our previous Spring (and Fall) clean-ups.

Volunteers will meet at Lion’s Park for coordination at 9am. Workers will return to Lion’s Park at 11:45 a.m. to finish by noon. Refreshments will include coffee, donut holes, fruit, water and snacks. Organizers will provide trash bags, but ask that volunteers bring gloves and rakes.

For questions or more info, please contact Lisa Pearson, Salisbury Director of Planning and Community Development, 978-463-2266, lpearson@salisburyma.gov or Jerry Klima, Coastal Trails, 978-465-5325, jerryklima@hotmail.com See the event page for directions or to quickly add our events to your calendar. We’ll be posting more info as we firm up dates and locations for Newburyport and Amesbury, but hope that we might be doing all the trails on the same day as Salisbury.

Amesbury Adopt-a-Trail

The Amesbury Adopt-A-Trail signage makes the trail safer for users and provides funds for trail stewardship.  This trail was the original section of the Coastal Trails Network, and provided inspiration for our neighbor towns of Salisbury, Newburyport and Newbury.

adopt a trail

Your contribution shows your support for these critical activities, and for the overall health of our beautiful Riverwalk Trail to all who use it.  Working with the Amesbury Police Department, the markers provide locational signs in case there are accidents along the trail.  The signs also provide a financial and community supporter opportunity.  Funds raised this way allow our loyal contributors to supplement critical trail maintenance items, working with the Town’s Department of Public Works.

Here are the details:

  1. We have installed mileposts every one-tenth of a mile along the 1.2-mile Powow Trail.
  2. An attractive 5″ by 8″ sign on each milepost shows its exact location on the trail. This will allow Amesbury’s public safety personnel to respond promptly to any emergency.
  3. The signs will also display the name and contact information of a trail sponsor, with the option to add the sponsor’s logo as well.  We will feature these logos on the CTC website.
  4. Sponsors will make annual contributions of $250 per sign.

Please send e-mail to amesburytrails@gmail.com if you are interested in becoming a sponsor.
